The Pittsburgh Street Team, in strategic partnership with The HEAR Foundation, is a citywide violence prevention, youth development, and community engagement initiative dedicated to creating safer neighborhoods, strengthening families, and expanding opportunities for youth throughout the City of Pittsburgh. As the umbrella organization for Street Team East, Street Team North, Street Team South, and Street Team West, Pittsburgh Street Team brings together community leaders, residents, service providers, faith-based organizations, businesses, educational institutions, healthcare partners, and public officials under one shared mission: to reduce violence through collaboration, prevention, intervention, restoration, and hope.
Through its partnership with The HEAR Foundation, Pittsburgh Street Team leverages a holistic, trauma-informed approach to community safety by connecting residents to essential services that address the root causes of violence. Together, the organizations work to expand access to mental health resources, workforce development, education, mentoring, housing support, health and wellness initiatives, family stabilization services, and youth programming that empower individuals and strengthen neighborhoods.
We believe that every neighborhood deserves to be safe, every young person deserves the opportunity to thrive, and every family deserves access to the resources necessary to build a brighter future. Rather than responding only after violence occurs, Pittsburgh Street Team focuses on proactive community engagement, relationship-building, violence interruption, positive youth development, and coordinated resource navigation that addresses the underlying social, economic, and behavioral factors contributing to violence.
By combining grassroots outreach with strategic partnerships, Pittsburgh Street Team and The HEAR Foundation are building a citywide network of support that empowers residents to become part of the solution. Together, we are fostering resilient communities where prevention is prioritized, healing is possible, and every individual can reach their full potential.
