On June 22, 2022, The Hear Foundation marked its launch in Pittsburgh with a press briefing and gathering of our board of directors and members of the community at the August Wilson African American Cultural Center.
It was an important moment for us as our co-founders, Leon Ford and Chief Scott Schubert, shared their personal story and we presented our mission and vision and announced our Summer of Healing inaugural community microgrants. We are grateful to all those who were able to attend this important day, including guest speakers County Executive Rich Fitzgerald; Mayor Ed Gainey; Rev. Cornell Jones; Retired Assistant Superintendent Maurita Bryant; and Buhl Foundation President Diana Bucco.
